The Wallee for iPad

About the Guys from The Wallee: The wallee was developed by a small group of fanatics, all of whom flew to New York City and lined up to be among the first to purchase the ‘magical’ iPad. Yes, we’re that kind of crazy. iPad’s in hand, we jetted back to Australia, and very soon realized that we had uncontrollable urges to hang our iPad’s everywhere; next to our phones for quick message taking and calendar checking, on our kitchen back-splash to follow recipes of epicurious, at the foot of our bath for relaxing movie watching, in our offices as an extension of our work space, on our hallway walls to display pictures of family and friends, and the list goes on and on and on.

The Wallee case enables your iPad to connect to your wall perfectly for use in the kitchen, bathroom or office. We will be doing a video review of this product in the next week or so. Stay tuned.

Across Age HD for iPad

TouchArcade reports: Across Age is an RPG loaded with puzzles that take advantage of the game’s two main gameplay mechanics: Being able to control two separate characters at once, and heaps of time travel. The game also features massive bosses, which everyone loves, and of course each boss has its own gimmick (usually utilizing an ability you just unlocked) which must be exploited to defeat it. Overall, I had a fun time playing through Across Age as it tickled both my nostalgia for similar games of the Super Nintendo era, while being just fresh enough to not feel blatantly “inspired” by those same games.

FDG Entertainment has been hard at work on an iPad version of the game, and have redrawn all of the graphics in the process. The HD version also has combat and character movement tweaks with customizable on-screen controls. There’s even going to be a bonus dungeon and boss fight, which hopefully will be cool enough to give players a reason go play through the game again if they’ve already beat it on the iPhone or iPod touch.

FDG is planning on releasing Across Age HD sometime next month for $7.99. The screenshots they’ve sent us so far look awesome, and I can’t wait to run through the game again on my iPad.

Sheet Music Assistant for iPad

TUAW reports: A company called Airturn has developed the BT-105, a Bluetooth foot switch for turning pages on the iPad forward and backward using a tap of a foot. As Hugh Sung explains in the video above, it allows instrumentalists who are busy with both hands to use a toe to tap one of the two switches to move through the score easily.

iPad is Apple’s Third Biggest Segment

Business Insider reports: In the June quarter, the iPad business generated $2.2 billion of revenue for Apple. That’s more than Apple’s iPod business generated last quarter — $1.5 billion. (Though the cheaper iPod obviously had larger unit sales.) And it’s almost half as big as Apple’s 26-year-old Mac business, which put in its best quarter ever at $4.4 billion.
