Foxconn manufacturing rumoured Apple tablet for early 2010 launch
Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will be Apple’s manufacturing partner for the long rumoured Apple tablet. That’s according to DigiTimes who yesterday cited unnamed market sources and claimed Foxconn is likely to initially supply around 300,000 to 400,000 tablets to Apple.
The report suggested a similar timescale for the launch as previous reports with a first quarter of 2010 release date likely. According to DigiTimes sources the device will focus more on e-book functionality rather than music. Yesterday, Amazon announced the Kindle e-book reader is now available internationally, including the UK, although orders need to be made via Amazon.com
