Sprint release a 4G case for iPad

In a bold move that is sure to push some buttons, Sprint has gone ahead and created a protective case designed specifically for the iPad. Why would they go through the trouble? Well, the Apple tablet currently only comes in a Wi-Fi enabled version, with the more expensive 3G model set to hit stores in early May. Sprint is attempting to one-up Apple by incorporating a pocket designed to carry the Overdrive 3G/4G mobile hotspot, which is capable of supporting up to five devices at 4G speeds via Wi-Fi.

According to Sprint, “Now you can use your iPad™ for everything it was built for, and then some.” Ouch. Sure it’s a pain to have to carry an extra device that should’ve come built-in, but with Apple unlikely to release a 4G iPad for at least another year, Sprint seems happy to provide a solution that works for all iPad owners.
