Conde Nast to release two more iPad Apps

iPhone Freak reports: Magazine published Conde Nast has announced that it will be bringing The New Yorker magazine to the iPad, along with a revival of Gourmet magazine, which ceased publication last year. These will join the iPad version of Wired magazine which successfully launched soon after the iPad went on sale, selling 90,000 editions since then.

The New Yorker is being developed around Adobe’s Digital Magazine technology to provide the reader with an extensive interactive experience, something which Conde Nast are obviously fans of, as they intend to convert some of their other titles into Adobe-based iPad magazines too. Conde Nast also have their own in-house division working on digital versions on their publications called Conde Nast Digital, who have so far put out GQ and Vanity Fair, with Glamour following them in September.

Gourmet however, is a slightly different beast, in that it won’t be a magazine, but a digital reinvention of the brand. The app will be named Gourmet Live and will bring together many of the recipes, photographs and articles featured in the old magazine, but will add social networking support to share and tag articles, plus a foursquare-alike system that we presume will unlock new content depending on your location. Future plans include restaurant reviews and recommendations.
