Apple debuts new iPad ad – “iPad is Electric”

A new ad for the iPad has debuted, continuing the series of “iPad is …” ads of recent months. The new spot, “iPad is Electric,” is the third in the series, and features a number of popular iPad apps as the other do but ends with a short showcase of AmpliTube’s iRig for iPad. The new ad describes the iPad as “cinematic,” “elementary,” “academic,” “full-size” (perhaps a nod to Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ recent comments on seven-inch competitor mini-tablets), “presenting,” “bought,” “sold,” “fantasy,” and “electric,” showing the playing of an electric guitar and setting of the iRig app. The previous ads were called “iPad is Delicious,” which debuted in mid-August and has so far garnered 655,000 views on YouTube, and “iPad is Musical,” which appeared in September and has been seen over 150,000 times. The ads generally result in significant upticks in the sales of the featured apps, even though they are mostly not specifically identified on screen.
