Apple is set launch its much anticipated iPad 2 in April, according to reports. Foxconn Electronics, the company that manufactures Apple products out of several massive plants in China, is gearing to supply up to 600,000 units of the tablet device over the next 100 days, the Digitimes website reports. The updated device, which has not been officially named, will reportedly ship by the end of February after mass production was pushed back from January due to problems testing its firmware.
There have been reports iPad 2 will feature a dual-camera set up to support Apple’s Facetime video chat, and gamers are hoping for more features for gaming. Since launching last April, the original iPad’s sales have been strong, selling nearly 5 million units in the last quarter alone. Apple is set to start clearing the superseded tablet ahead of iPad 2′s launch.
