Believe it or not, the new Google App for iPad is better than ANY google app on an Android tablet. I am still trying to figure out why they have done this given that Google probably want to push their own tablets more than iPads. However, the Google Search app is now updated with all the main Google features, including a beautiful HTML5 version of GMail, which I personally think is better than the GMail app for iPad, Calendar, docs, News, G+, Reader etc. Clicking on YouTube, or Earth takes you to the iPad native apps, but one really interesting thing is Maps. Google Maps on iPad is nearly flawless, I use it all the time with no issues, however when clicking Maps in the new Google app, you stay within the app, and Google’s own version of Maps opens up, not a web based version of Maps, a beautifully fast native HTML5 version of Maps. After using the app for 15 minutes, I can already tell the new Google App is going to be my favourite app to use daily.
